Sample Disk Sessions

so i just recently found the copy of the 3rd edition of the beattips manual which i had purchased before i purchased the 5th edition. I was just skimming through the section on setting up practice sessions and it said to set up 3 types of sessions: Beatmaking, Music Study, and Sample Disk Sessions. I was wondering what was meant by "Sample Disk Sessions". Thanks, Aj
