  • Question about sample with mpc60

    hello fellas,

i have a question maybe you guys can help me,
when i sample a snare, clap or kick whatever, and i play this back,
i can hear a light "click" when the sound ends. i've tried to get rid of that, but it doesn't go away.
for example when a sample sound ends at 001.000.00 then there's a tiny little click at 001.000.01 ( the end of the sample / not the sound )

    anyone knows this problem ?

truncate the sample end. Meaning cut the click out.
I'll remain up in the lab till its engulfed in flames

What The Beat Pharmacy said is correct, you can truncate the actual sample or slightly alter the decay to make the click inaudible. What you might want to look into however is the origin of your drum sounds, more than likely that click is not from the machine but from the original drum sample. A lot of websites that sell drum sounds seem to have this problem, which again is another reason you should consider digging for some unique/more individual sounds, not implying that you are not already. Even recording/chopping your own sounds, the click can still be a potential issue. The editing capabilities on the MPC60 are not as fluid as that of the computer, so you might want to consider batch editing your sounds on a computer first and then return them to the memory card/disk.
But I've heard his beat "beats", and he really goes in like a monster... So yo, Castro, stop frontin', and post that heat! -Sa'id

        noise..

        thanks for your answers !

i indeed did sample a few sounds from a free library just to check that out, was my first trie with wavs from a free drum kit.

last evening i had indeed less problems when i sampled some things from vinyl, so my conclusion is what you guys told me.... i'll stick to my vinyl gunns from now !
