  • Best Q-Tip beats

I know that the Tribe's production is credited to Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed but this guy's sound/mix is definitely worth something. What are your favorite beats of his?

Mine are "Oh My God" "Give Up The Goods" (by Mobb Deep) "Crooklyn" and "Award Tour"

    what are yours?

Ahhh...scenario remix. He has small vox excerpts from ohio players "ecstacy". Same track that clark kent used for jay/big "brooklyn's finest"

Damn man...q tip. This dude was the glue that combined hardcore with the smoothness. Smacking drums, yet still melodic. He needs a damn award. But anyway....

Scenario was the dopest track. It was the summer before I moved from NYC to Dallas. My brother and I would jam that track whenever it came on MTV, The Box or we'd pop in the cassette. The video that Spike did seemed like it was from the future or something. I remember being like, "How'd they do that?" I think I was late on the remix tho, can't remember I was like 10. Man I miss those days.

Its amazing that he produced the first three albums, but the thing is how much stuff that we love, did he not get "credit" for. He has some of the best drums hands down. He also made all his productions jazzy by using rare jazz loops. The thing was taking those jazz loops and making them hardcore!! I think that if he hadnt assisted on Mobb Deeps- The Infamous then they wouldnt be who they are today. He is more than production, he is careers!! But definitely Electric Relaxation.
